Make easy and quickly money with Google Adsense

December 1st, 2009 · No Comments

Okay let’s make some easy cash. I and thousands of bloggers earn easy money on a monthly basis with a blog or website. This happens through advertisements. I know there are people who hate placing advertisements on their sites, but for me this is a reward for a good (blog) site with quality articles. In difficult economic times every dime that you can earn is a plus.

Every person who has his or her own blog or website should take advantage of free money that can be earned with Google Adsense.  You, too, can earn free money very easily with a minimum amount of effort. Even when you don’t have a lot of time to write many blog articles or website content. However, if you write frequently and your articles have quality content, you will attract more readers and keep followers.

I don’t write many articles for my blog, but I still get a significant amount of money through the Google Adsense program because several articles are read frequently by visitors of my site, and while reading my articles, visitors click on the Google Adsense banners. In other words, I generate revenue on my blog without doing a lot of work. The amount I earn through my blog is set aside for a new notebook. Of course you can choose for yourself what to do with your revenue.

I will be honest, with the revenue earned on my blog, I can’t quit my day job.  Relatively, I earn more money per hour by blogging online than working in the office for my employer. There are several bloggers that do write many quality articles frequently, and thanks to advertisement they are now professional bloggers.

What is Google Adsense

Let me quote from Wikipedia: “AdSense is an ad serving application run by Google Inc. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and video advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis.”

Google AdSense is the program that can give you advertising revenue from each page on your website—with a minimal investment in time and no additional resources. AdSense delivers relevant text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site and your site content. And when you add a Google search box to your site, AdSense delivers relevant text ads that are targeted to the Google search results pages generated by your visitors’ search request.

How to start with Google Adsense

  • Create your own blog or website, preferable with your own domain name so you have a unique identity. You are not allowed to run Google Adsense on a blog published through the WordPress domain. You can run Google Adsense through your own domain by using WordPress templates. Try one of the WordPress  plugins for Google Adsense: http://WordPress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=adsense

Check out my (revenue generating) article: Everybody can start a WordPress blog with this process flowchart

  • Write several quality articles that inform and create interest for your visitors. Write about knowledgeable topics. Good research and planning will help with writing good articles.
  • Sign up for Google Adsense
  • Follow the easy setup steps outlined in the Google Adsense help section.
  • Read up about what advertisement placement and color schemes are most successful
  • Frequently visit the official Google Adsense blog at: http://adsense.blogspot.com/
  • Review your Google Adsense reports. Creating different ad channels can help you to determine what area of your blog or website is most successful.
  • View YouTube videos on how to set up Google Adsense

It’s really simple to set up Google Adsense. There are many resources that can help you out. Search on Google, visit Youtube for tutorials and visit the Google Adsense site to stay up to date on changes. Google has excellent report features to track your Adsense earnings. It takes patience to earn your first check, but when you have the ball rolling, you will earn a check every month. Don’t give up quickly and keep writing quality blog articles.

One warning:  when you have Google Adsense enabled on your site, don’t click on your own site advertisement banners. Google has a very strict policy that prohibits you from clicking your own ads. Google can very easily track your clicks on your own site. If you find an interesting advertisement, access the site directly by entering the url address or click on the ads through other people’s sites. Read the Google Adsense policies.

Use available preference settings and advanced options in your software applications

November 11th, 2008 · Comments Off

Sometimes, I feel like a real geek because I always get excited when a new application or new version for one of my installed application comes out. The first question I ask myself: does this new application or version improve and/or increase my productivity when performing certain tasks? What features have been added, removed or modified and how can I take advantage of these features?

Many people download a new software application or install an upgraded version and start using it, just out of the box. What they don’t realize, is the fact that most software makers have only the basic features enabled. Software makers try to make the product attractive and user friendly for as many users as possible and know that the average person is computer illiterate and have difficulties with adapting change.

Take advantage of advanced features
Take time to look at advanced and additional features that an application can offer you. Study at least the preferences or options menus that can be found in many applications under the Edit or Tools button in your standard toolbar.

Just take a look at all tabs and buttons available under these menus and ask yourself the question: “What can this option do for me? Will it improve or increase my productivity?” I am sure you find a few options that you want to enable in every application that are normally in standard installation not available.

Let me give you an example. I view old news articles that are scanned and sent to me in PDF format. This format is being used with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader application. Sometimes I want to have a close up look of the photo in the news article so I have to zoom in.

By enabling the feature: “Make Hand Tool use mouse-wheel zooming” I can zoom in and out of the page by the scrolling the wheel in the middle of my mouse. This is quick, easy and convenient.
Some preference or option settings are obvious; the name of the setting provides you an explanation. If a particular option is not clear in what it can mean for you, don’t hesitate the help file.

Adding and changing toolbars
Another critical element of every application is the toolbar. Again, often, only the standard toolbar is displayed when you start the application for the first time. Take advantage to add and modify toolbars in all your applications so you don’t have to go into all the menus to select a tool. You will be surprised how many opportunities you have missed in the past and much time this will save you.

I take modification of the toolbar a step further. After I have added a toolbar, I modify the toolbar by removing and adding feature buttons. Many applications allow you to right mouse click on the toolbar and have a “customize” or “more tools” button that you can use to your advantage.

From now on, when you have to go into a certain menu a lot to perform an action, add the button for that action on the toolbar.

Conclusion
Take time to learn the advanced features of your application. Invest some time to get to know the options and features that are available well. It will save you time in the long run. You also will have a laugh when you see family, friends and colleges fumbling around in the application that you are so familiar with. A geek like me, also checks the “What has changed since the previous version log” or simply named but that is a subject for another article..
